current Uni work ...

i'm currently in my first project at uni - or first proper project anyway. i'm bassing it on tea bowls - i was going to base it on the Japanese Tea Ceremony but my tutor stopped me and said it would be too complicated (maybe she thinks i'm thick cos it would have only taken an extra day to do the research) so i'm basically, looking at tea bowls and making a selection of bowls inspired by them. i was going to do pinched bowls like how they make them for the Japanese tea ceremony but i remembered i get too bored doing too many pinch pots and they usually end up all looking the same - so i thought i'd throw all my bowls for this project as i'm still fresh to throwing and could do with practice - also, when i get it right, its quicker and easier than pinching and i can do a wider variety of bowl shapes - or i will when i'm more practiced ....
the only problem i'm finding atm is that the pots are drying too fast to turn them propperly (turning is where you put the made pot upsede down on the potters wheel and, using tools, sculpt the base to make a foot etc and get rid of the excess clay in the base so it isnt too bottom-heavy) so i've been getting a bit frustrated with it. Other than that, my uni course is completely easy and trouble free :-)
for now ... hahahahaaa
